Testimonials

80 strong Community Outreach (CO) has been a tremendous blessing in my life since my release from prison. They provided the basic things that I needed like hygienic items, clothing, even some financial support. It is hard for anyone returning to population to immediately adjust. One of the most important things that I feel like they gave me was moral and emotional support.  That alone made my transition back into society less difficult.  Often times we have burnt bridges and or severed ties with people that love and support us or those we should have never been in relationship with in the first place. Either way sometimes we find ourselves out here alone without any help that doesn’t come at cost that is not worth paying. 80 Strong (CO) also provided that place of safety were you know that you are surrounded by family and friends that truly have your best interest in mind. I have been home now for two years, through a job referral from 80 Strong (CO) I am now an Executive Assistant for another prominent non-profit organization in the city of Detroit. I cannot say enough of how they have been a blessing to me. As a returning citizen I often feel as though it is important for me to now give back to society in some positive way. 80 Strong (CO) has also provided that for me, they offer plenty of opportunities to mentor and or give back in different ways. I am so grateful for all they have done and are still doing in my life.

When no one else was there and when I had no job, 80 Strong was always there for me with food, clothes, help with car repairs and the answer was always “we can help!” I’ve even decided to make regular donations to this organization. 80 Strong-Sisters in the Spirit Ministry really has a heart for people!

I had no family, friends, or support in the state of Michigan. Eighty Strong gave me all that in one. My problems and concerns seem to have become their problems and concerns. But most of all, my sisters help strengthen my soul and my relationship with my GOD so that I one day can be of some help and guidance to another.  Because ultimately we are all sisters in the spirit.
